Call for TSA Volunteers: Technical Lectures – Task Group

Passionate about professional development, continuing education, and raising the knowledge and skills of the industry? Have experience organizing learning opportunities within your studio or community? Come join us as a member of our new TSA Technical Lectures Task Group!

TSA Technical Lectures are our core skill-building lecture series, focused on providing attendees with practical, down-to-earth knowledge related to the business and practice of architecture and related disciplines. Offered once a month, technical lectures present reliable, varied, high-quality professional education that is relevant to all members, from those just beginning their professional journey to seasoned practitioners.

Our Task Group will be composed of both experienced professionals, well-informed on industry trends and recurring issues within practice, as well as emerging professionals, aware of common knowledge gaps among their peers and familiar with the latest technologies and practices. All members will be aware of the industry’s hot topics, and will have a shared commitment to education and skill-building. Previous experience developing continuing education opportunities, either in the office, academia or another professional setting, is a plus but not required. A broad professional network and familiarity with the TSA and its programming, particularly our existing lectures, is always a bonus!

As we look to expand cross-disciplinary opportunities and bring together all disciplines that help shape the built environment, we welcome applications not only of architects, intern architects, and architectural technologists, but also engineers, interior designers, urban planners, landscape architects, and other design professionals.

What to expect?

The Task Group will act as a think tank, working with TSA Initiative Leads and staff to develop a roster of topics, speakers and learning opportunities to be rolled out as part of the next cycle of Technical Lectures (2024-2026). The group will meet twice, once to review the criteria/objectives for the upcoming cycle and then again to discuss the suggestions developed by the group. Both meetings are expected to be virtual and occur in mid-April through mid-May, with dates and times subject to member availability. Task Group members are expected to work between the meetings to develop suggestions.
