Call for TSA Volunteers: Doors Open – Open Studio Volunteers

Are you passionate about helping the public better understand what architects do? Want to grow your network and lend your skills to help further the TSA’s public outreach efforts in the architecture and design industry? Come join us as a Volunteer for our Open Studio program during Doors Open Toronto 2024!

Each year, in partnership with the City of Toronto, the TSA enlists a select group of architectural practices to open their doors for the Doors Open weekend to introduce the public and aspiring young architects and designers to the world of the architectural studio. The selected practices range from young, up and coming firms to large established studios working on a wide variety of projects. The Open Studio program provides a unique opportunity to give the public unparalleled access to the offices and people that are shaping our city. 

Our TSA Open Studio Volunteers provide enthusiastic support to the participating studios, being on-site at these firms helping with logistics throughout the day, including greeting visitors, keeping track of attendance, and helping to answer questions about architecture and the TSA in general. TSA Volunteers are reliable, out-going, and resourceful, and they are passionate about architecture and enjoy interacting with people from all walks of life.

What to expect?

TSA Open Studio Volunteers commit to helping out one of our participating studios for one full-day (approx. 9:30 AM – 5:30 PM) during the Doors Open weekend (May 25-26, 2024). We will hold a mandatory 1-hour orientation session on Wednesday, April 24. New volunteers will also be required to complete a short online course on accessible customer service (30-40 minutes).
