Call for Participation: Research Project on Mentorship and Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion

Dr Alison Harvey, an Associate Professor in Communications at Glendon College, York University and Dr Tamara Shepherd, an Associate Professor in Communication, Media and Film at the University of Calgary, would like to invite you to participate in a study on the mentorship experiences of people working in the creative technology industries called “The Role and Impact of Mentorship for Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion in Tech”

Alison and Tamara are seeking to interview people who have acted as mentees or mentors, formally or informally about their experiences in these relationships and their perspectives on the influence of mentorship on equity, diversity, and inclusion in their sectors. They are also interested in speaking to those who organize or manage mentorship activities as part of their roles about how these are planned, executed, and assessed.

Your participation would involve a completely confidential in-person or online interview lasting from 60-90 minutes at your convenience. All data you provide will be kept secure and will be reported anonymously.

As compensation for your time, you will be offered a gift card of $50 CAD.

If you would be interested in participating in this study or have any questions about this research, please email Alison at alison.harvey@glendon.yorku.ca.
