We Are All Water

Architectural and documentary photographer Amanda Large exhibits select photographs from her year-long exploration of the RC Harris Water Treatment Plant, featuring photographs produced between October 2020 and September 2021.

We Are All Water is a series featuring the RC Harris Water Filtration Plant and its symbolic and physical relationship with Lake Ontario. Taken over the course of 12 months, the images of the so-called “Palace of Purification” document the structures and site in all seasons, under different weather conditions and at various times of day. The site provides a much-needed connection to nature in these times of turmoil; a purification of our spirits as well as the literal purification of our most important source of life.

The afternoon will also feature remarks by Elsa Lam (Canadian Architect Magazine), and Rick Haldenby (School of Architecture, University of Waterloo) at 3 pm.
