  • Laurie VandeSchoot
    Deputy Chief Laurie VandeSchoot, MSc (Retired) builds inclusive and high-performing cultures that strengthen communities. An executive-level change agent in municipal government / fire services (32 years) and international development (25 years), Laurie is the lead consultant for NDRI-USA and serves her local volunteer fire department as the Assistant Chief. She holds several interdisciplinary degrees, including a Sustainable Development MSc, and leads international programs on diversity, executive leadership, and human relations.

  • Analyze the impact of workplace experiences on the health and well-being of 2SLGBTQI+ individuals, drawing from current research findings and real-world examples to highlight the significance of creating affirming environments
  • Develop actionable steps for promoting equality and inclusivity within architectural practices and organizations, empowering participants to become advocates for positive change and allies to 2SLGBTQI+ communities.
