Film: Nuvola. An Open Project for the City

NUVOLA explores Lavazza’s urban renewal project in Turin, centered on its headquarters and the surrounding Aurora district. Through eight chapters, it captures life within Nuvola’s spaces – its museum, restaurant, garden square, and repurposed power plant – revealing how architecture and community shape one another over time. Blending voices from chefs, archaeologists, schoolchildren, and locals, NUVOLA presents a multi-layered narrative: observational sequences portray the space “from below” through daily life; architect Cino Zucchi’s narration offers a guiding vision “from above”; and rhythmic interludes reflect the site’s poetry through light, music, and motion. The film highlights how light, seasons, and people shape the atmosphere and character of this modern landmark. NUVOLA celebrates not just a building, but a vision for the future. The film is presented in honour of Lavazza’s 130th anniversary in 2025.
