Call for Submissions: RAIC Prix du XXe siècle

The Royal Architectural Institute of Canada (RAIC) and the National Trust for Canada wish to promote public awareness of significant modern Canadian architecture from the 20th century. The Prix du XXe Siècle celebrates design quality and enduring excellence, recognizing the design of the original architect(s) and/or firm(s) and the on-going stewardship of the building’s owner(s).

An expert panel will be established, and maintained, by the RAIC and National Trust for Canada comprising a minimum of three (3) people expert in the area of modern Canadian architectural history and heritage.

A call for volunteers will be sent out by the RAIC and National Trust. The RAIC and National Trust will select the expert panel from this call. Diversity and regional representation will be encouraged in the selection of the panel. Members will be appointed for three-year terms (renewable). Terms will be staggered to ensure continuity.

The expert panel will develop and maintain a list of buildings suitable for being considered for the annual Prix du XXe Siècle awards. Buildings can be nominated by members of the profession and the public, for consideration by the expert panel.
