TSA Building Tour: Catalyst

Please note this building tour is now sold out. A waitlist has been opened, and tickets will be released as they become available. If you have a ticket and you are no longer able to attend, please be sure to cancel your ticket so other attendees may join instead.

It’s time to pull out those hard hats and lace up your safety boots because our next TSA Building Tour is under construction! Join us for a special site visit as we explore Catalyst at 77 Wade, a new purpose-built life sciences development soon to be home to busy laboratories and researchers.

Delivering 155,000 square feet of life science and research space, Catalyst is a response to the GTA’s shortage of wet-lab spaces, a critical piece of infrastructure required to support the life sciences sector. Organized as a 7-storey dual-core slab tower, this facility has been designed to serve the needs of a wide variety of tenants—from biotech startups to established anchor tenants—integrating high performance lab infrastructure with modern workspaces and shared amenities.

During the tour, we’ll receive a guided walkthrough of the building shell, structural systems and emerging lab and office spaces, as well as gain insight into the design and delivery of the high-spec mechanical infrastructure that is required for flexible life sciences tenancy. Our guides will discuss how decisions throughout the design and construction process balanced performance, flexibility and affordability, and the role the building is playing in establishing The Junction as Toronto’s newest innovation cluster.

Our tour will be led by the Lead Architects behind the project (DIALOG), as well as the General Partner and Development Manager (Seeker Labs).

About the Building: Catalyst

Catalyst is Toronto’s first purpose-built life sciences development in over two decades. Located in the heart of the Junction, the 155,000-square-foot building is designed to support a new generation of research-driven companies—from early-stage biotech startups to established anchor tenants. Catalyst offers flexible, research-ready space that integrates lab infrastructure with modern workspace and shared amenities.

The building features a dual-core design that maximizes tenant flexibility, 15-foot floor-to-floor heights, vibration-resistant structural systems, and robust mechanical systems infrastructure tailored to laboratory use. Extensive glazing, rooftop mechanical zones, and coordinated base-building systems meet the technical and operational demands of life sciences users while delivering architectural clarity and strong environmental performance.

Positioned within Toronto’s growing innovation ecosystem, Catalyst delivers high-performance lab space designed to support both emerging and established life sciences organizations. Its location, technical sophistication, and flexibility make it a flagship project redefining the city’s research real estate landscape.

About TSA Building Tours

Designed for architects by architects, the TSA Building Tours offer unique behind-the-scenes access to recently completed or under construction buildings across the GTA. Led by the team behind their design, these tours provide an opportunity to hear the stories behind the architecture and learn about the challenges and successes in ideating and realising the vision for the building.

TSA Building Tours are made possible thanks to the generous support of STEIN + REGENCY.
