PARENTHOOD + PRACTICE: National Survey of Canadian Architects
Members of the architecture community are invited to participate in a national survey examining parenthood, caregiving, and parental leave experiences in Canadian architecture.
The anonymous and confidential survey takes approximately 20 minutes to complete and can be accessed by clicking “Take the Survey”.
Parenthood + Practice: National Survey of Canadian Architects is a research initiative exploring how caregiving responsibilities, parental leave, return-to-work transitions, and workplace culture shape retention, career progression, and long-term sustainability within the profession.
Led by Building Equality in Architecture Calgary (BEAC) in collaboration with the University of Calgary School of Architecture, Planning and Landscape and the University of Calgary Department of Psychology, with support from Calgary Municipal Land Corporation, the project aims to develop Canada’s first sector-specific, evidence-based resource on parenthood in architecture.
