M.ARCH CAFÉ Housing Symposium
The first-year M.ARCH class is excited to invite you to the M.ARCH CAFÉ Housing Symposium, in partnership with the Canadian Architecture Students Association (CASA). Please see the event details below and the highlights of specific TMU student-led portions of the event:
MArch Gallery Exhibition Opening: Thursday, January 30, 2025, 6 pm
MArch Panel: Friday, January 31, 2025, 5 pm – 7 pm
MArch Roundtable: Saturday, February 1, 2025, 1 pm – 2 pm
This event highlights the urgent need for adaptive policies that create affordable and livable housing solutions in our city. The symposium features the M.ARCH CAFÉ Gallery that displays interactive exhibitions, time for networking, activities including a roundtable discussion, and a panel of professional practitioners led by TMU students titled “Housing the Future: Toronto’s Innovative Housing Practitioners.” This panel encourages participants to adopt a fresh perspective on addressing housing challenges through meaningful discussion. At the end of the two-day symposium, a call-to-action montage that encapsulates key themes, advocating for issues like “inclusive housing” and “equal housing rights” will be presented. Together, this gathering will inspire a shared vision for the future of housing in Toronto and beyond!
The housing gallery will exhibit CASA’s housing manifesto posters. We encourage our fellow students to contribute by submitting manifestos to CASA. For more information on submitting your manifesto, please visit this link.
Registration is required for this event, so please sign up here. You can sign up for the entire CASA CAFÉ event or just the TMU M.ARCH Symposium. Also, follow us on Instagram (@tmudas_symposium) to be updated with information regarding our symposium!
We look forward to engaging with our fellow students at this exciting event! For more info on the entire event, please visit https://www.casa-acea.org/cafe-housing.
