Time allowing, you’ll stop at or discuss: Garrison Common Park, the Railroad, The Gardiner, The Toronto Abattoir, & The Bentway. Discuss Toronto in 4 historical and material eras:
- Time Immemorial to Early 1800s. Toronto/Fort York and the British/U.S. competition, and industry.
- Early 1800s to Mid 1900s. Industrialization, Toronto and Canadian expansion, and steel.
- Mid 1900s to Late 1900s. Suburbanization, Globalization, and concrete/asphalt.
- Late 1900s to Present. Financialization, Toronto as a “”Global City””, and glass.
