Heat Pump Fundamentals Training for Property Managers

Toronto Hydro, in collaboration with Toronto 2030 District, ASHRAE Toronto, and HRAI, is proud to present the Heat Pump Fundamentals training initiative. This series is designed to bridge the knowledge gap in the mid-tier commercial building sector (B and C Class buildings) regarding the electrification and decarbonization of heating systems.

This course provides Property Managers with essential knowledge on using heat pumps to support decarbonization in commercial buildings, focusing on Class B and C properties, business case development, and basic technical design considerations for operational management. These buildings, often older and in need of efficiency upgrades, offer significant potential for energy and carbon reduction.

Learning Outcomes

  • The benefits of electrifying heating systems.
  • Applications of heat pump technology for mid-tier commercial buildings.
  • Managing HVAC energy usage effectively to reduce Scope 1 GHG emissions.
  • Driving asset value through future-proofing building systems.
