City of Toronto RFP: Architectural Services for Pre-Approved Multiplex Dwellings

The City of Toronto is inviting proposals from architectural practices to create OBC compliant, high-quality designs for four-unit and six-unit residential buildings. The final designs will be made publicly available by the City of Toronto to interested users such as developers, designers, or property owners through the City’s Pre-Approved Plans Program which currently includes laneway and garden suites. A professional with the required qualifications under the Code will be required to take responsibility for the design to satisfy the requirements of a building permit. Interested users will be able to select a design that aligns with their needs, lot characteristics, and financial capacity, and include the finalized pre-approved plans as part of their building permit application.

How and What to Submit

Any practices looking to submit a proposal must create a profile with the City of Toronto’s SAP Ariba e-bidding platform. All bidding documents, including required forms and the RFP description and requirements, can all be found there. In addition, any official revisions, addenda, questions, and answers will only be issued there.
