BAIDA Externship Program: Apply Now

BAIDA is super excited to announce that they will be organizing their very first Externship program! This program provides an opportunity for post-secondary design students and recent grads to gain access to a Toronto design firm, shadow working professionals in the office, and present their work to influential designers for feedback. This is the first in the collection of new programming that they’ll be rolling out!

The Externship pilot program takes place over two weeks from March 16th to March 27th. During the program, participants will have guided visits with staff at their partnered firm and Silver level Sponsor, KPMB Architects! There, they will shadow working professionals, be privy to critiques and conversations in office, and learn about the work culture at KPMB. In between the shadowing days, participants will work on a design charette; we will explore form finding, design thinking, and accessibility.

BIPOC post-secondary design students and recent grads from design degrees will be prioritized in this program, but all are welcome to apply! This program is geared towards architectural design, but is open to all design disciplines.
