At the TSA we are probably best known for our big public events, from our annual participation in Doors Open Toronto to our summer-long walking tours all across the city, but sometimes our most important events are the smaller, less-advertized celebrations which get to the core of who we are.
Community and volunteerism have always been at the heart of everything we do—in fact, it was our founding objective back in 1887—which is why every year for the past 6 years we take an evening to say thank you to all the volunteers, sponsors, and partners that make our work possible. Last night’s celebration was the biggest one yet, with well over 140 attendees gathering at the Centre for Social Innovation – Annex to celebrate how we always have: around good food, drinks and great company.
We are so grateful to each and every individual who contributes their skills, talent, knowledge, and time to making so much of our diverse programming possible, and we’re humbled by the support of so many partners and sponsors across the community. At a time when so many non-profits are struggling and division seems to be taking hold in so many places, we count ourselves lucky to be part of a community that is so generous, kind, and committed to our shared goal of building a better city and profession.
And if you’re not involved yet, don’t forget there is always a way to be part of the TSA! Consider supporting our work by becoming a sponsor or keep an eye out for our fall Call for Volunteers and sign up to help out at one of our upcoming events or initiatives.
Cheers again volunteers, sponsors, and partners—let’s keep building a better Toronto together!
