TC Talks: Placemaking & Public Realm

An evening of insight and conversation exploring the City of Toronto’s new Cultural Districts Program — an exciting initiative designed to recognize and celebrate the city’s distinct cultural areas while addressing the growing challenge of shifting cultural identity.

TC Talks is an educational panel series by the office of Ward 13 City Councillor Chris Moise that brings together voices from the public, private, and nonprofit sectors to share expertise, spark dialogue, and explore ideas that shape our city and communities.

This session will focus on what Placemaking and Public Realms mean for neighbourhoods in Toronto Centre and how local destinations like Allan Gardens, a cultural jewel of our city, were created and activated. Additionally, this session will discuss the benefits of generating more vibrant neighbourhoods and how that can improve our day-to-day experiences. Whether you’re passionate about the characteristics of your neighbourhood, interested in attracting more local vibrancy, want to activate your local community space, or simply curious about what placemaking means, this is your opportunity to meet local experts, learn, and ask them the questions that matter to you and your community.
