DesignTO Call for Submissions: Éclos Capsule Collection

Éclos by Cosentino is the next generation of mineral surfaces featuring a layered 3-D body integrated design and superior heat resistance. Its production combines minerals and recycled materials with a low-crystalline silica composition, through an advanced process of robotic engineering and integrated decorative techniques.

DesignTO and Cosentino invite Canadian designers (living here or abroad) to submit to this open call for submissions. The selected submissions will form the 2026 Éclos Capsule Collection.

The Éclos Capsule Collection focuses on the creative use and application of Éclos in furniture, objects, or sculpture. It’s an opportunity for artists, designers, and architects to engage with the new mineral surface in an unconventional way, expanding its use beyond surface to three-dimensions.

Designers are encouraged to submit a proposal that will be fabricated in Toronto. The jury is looking for designs that emphasize the material’s innate qualities while exploring its potential for use in the whole environment we live and work in, blending form (and possibly function) in unexpected ways.

Who can apply: Canadian designers living in Canada or abroad, including students and professionals

What to submit: Proposals for furniture, objects, or sculpture using Éclos as the primary material

Artist fee: $1,000 CAD for selected designers

Submission: Online form (multiple entries permitted)

Deadline: Friday, May 22, 2026 at 11:59pm ET
