Call for TSA Volunteers: Pride Street Fair Volunteers

Familiar with Toronto’s 2SLGBTQ+ spaces or looking to get to know them better? Looking to help further the public’s appreciation about our city’s diverse built environment? Come join us as a volunteer at the TSA’s booth as part of the 2026 Pride Toronto Street Fair!

The TSA is excited to be again hosting a booth in the annual Pride Street Fair where we will be hosting an exhibition celebrating and mapping (both temporally and geographically) our city’s queer spaces. This work builds on our existing Queer Spaces research, deepening the project through new maps, drawings and photographs of Toronto’s evolving 2SLGBTQ+ spaces in an effort to better understand their spatial and urban characteristics.

TSA Volunteers joining us for the Street Fair are ambassadors for Toronto’s queer spaces and architecture in general. They are outgoing, open, reliable, and enjoy having discussions about the built environment with people from all walks of life. They are also comfortable with crowded and loud spaces at times, and are excited to experience Pride in a unique way. Familiarity with Toronto’s 2SLBGTQ+ spaces is a plus, but not required.

What to expect?

TSA Volunteers at the Street Fair commit to helping out at our booth for one half-day shift during the Festival Weekend (June 26-28, 2026), walking participants through the exhibition, helping out with activations, supporting the sales of Queer Spaces-themed merch, answering questions, and providing overall logistical support. Volunteers will also help with set up, tear down, and daily opening and closing procedures for the booth.

Prior to the festival, we will host a mandatory in-person orientation session on Saturday, June 6, where we will review some of Toronto’s queer spaces, discuss the goals of the exhibition, and more. New volunteers will also be required to complete a short online course on accessible customer service (30-40 minutes).
