OAA Lecture: SHIFT2025 Challenge, Reshaping Communities
Join the OAA for a specially priced, in-person evening lecture at the OAA Headquarters in Toronto! The Association is excited to present the first in a two-night series this fall, exploring the six jury-selected concepts of the SHIFT2025 Challenge, Reshaping Communities—an ideas competition for the architectural community to showcase how it might offer new approaches to the goal of strengthening the places where we live. The two standalone sessions each offer 1.5 hours of Structured Learning toward the OAA’s Continuing Education Program and include refreshments and a drink ticket for individual $10 admissions.
On Thursday, October 30, OAA Senior Vice President Lara McKendrick will introduce the teams behind three submissions, who will then offer short presentations. The event will take place from 6 to 8:30 pm, with the first hour scheduled as a reception with refreshments and mingling, and the lecture portion underway thereafter.
This special in-person event offers another opportunity to learn about:
- Subdivillage (Architect Naama Blonder);
- The Living Core: Designing for Resiliency at Home (Architect David DiGiuseppe); and
- The City Limits: Rethinking a 100-year-old Toronto Suburb (Architect Tim Scott).
Space is extremely limited, and tickets are not available at the door, so register before October 20. Onsite and street parking are limited. If you have special accessibility requirements, please contact the OAA.
