Wood Solutions Conference - Toronto

Toronto’s premiere wood design and construction event, the Toronto Wood Solutions Conference, is back – in person – on Thursday, November 24, 2022, from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, at the Paramount Eventspace, located at 222 Rowntree Dairy Road in Woodbridge, Ontario. The Conference is a valuable educational event and trade show designed to meet the needs of a diverse audience of architects, engineers, and other design and construction professionals.

The conference organizers are pleased to present a program of 25 expert speakers including international guest architect Robert Schmitz of White Arkitekter who will be presenting the Sara Cultural Centre in Skellefteå, Sweden. Several other building case studies will be presented including T3 Bayside in Toronto, the University of Victoria’s National Centre for Indigenous Laws, and District 56 – Tallwood 1, a mixed-use residential development with the distinction of being the first 12 storey building in Canada constructed under the new EMTC code provisions. Personalize your schedule from the sessions available and earn up to 6 learning hours.

Other topics covered include light wood frame and mass timber hybrid solutions for mid-rise buildings, outcomes and findings from the recent mass timber fire demonstration test, the launch of the Guide to Encapsulated Mass Timber Construction in the Ontario Building Code, the development of a mass timber-concrete composite panel for tall wood buildings, treated wood, prefabricated wood solutions for multi-unit housing, important features of wind resilient buildings, and innovative envelope solutions for wood buildings.

Registration for the day is $275 +HST and includes continental breakfast, lunch, all sessions, and a personalized continuing education certificate suitable for self-reporting structured learning hours.
