Highly detailed black and white photographs explore the architecture and industrial archaeology of the former Unilever Soap Factory, one of Toronto’s few surviving mid-century industrial buildings.

This series focuses on objects and obsolescence. Archaic industrial vestiges — towering storage tanks, antiquated machinery, and an intricate network of pipes — convey the contradiction between the idealism of purpose and productivity, and the alienation and futility that is a legacy of the modern industrial era.
