Vaughan Urban Design Awards
The Vaughan Urban Design Awards recognize and promote local development initiatives that exemplify excellence in urban design, architecture, landscape architecture, public art and environmental stewardship within the city of Vaughan. The awards reflect the community’s commitment to quality and innovation in city building.
Every five years, the City invites urban designers, architects, landscape architects, planners, engineers, developers, contractors, landowners and the general public to submit projects for consideration for the Vaughan Urban Design Awards.
The 2023 VUDA program will feature two award categories, Award of Excellence and Award of Merit, to recognize the various types of urban design, public realm and cultural heritage projects throughout the City that exemplify design excellence. Entries will be judged based on criteria related to City-Wide, Community-Wide or Urban Elements Significance; Sustainability; Compatibility; Innovation and Creativity; and Execution. Located at City Hall, the event will include approximately 150 people by invite only (architects, planners, developers, c-suite executives, key city staff and Council).
