UofT Workshop: Working Session for the 45th Antarctic Treaty Consultative Meeting
12:30 PM – 2:00 PM
John H. Daniels Faculty of Architecture, Landscape and Design 1 Spadina Crescent
The Antarctic Treaty was signed in Washington, D.C. on December 1,1959 by the 12 countries whose scientists had been active in and around Antarctica. To ensure that the continent is solely explored for truly collaborative scientific research, this gathering curated by UNA-UNLESS comprises “a marathon of conversations” with multidisciplinary experts on the urgency and potential of designing environmentally sustainable shared research infrastructures in Antarctica. It is being held alongside “Antarctic Resolution: Data Democratization and International Stations,” an exhibition in the Daniels Faculty’s Architecture and Design Gallery.
