In partnership with Glaholt Bowles LLP, CAWIC is pleased to present: “The “New” Construction Act: Lessons Learned and Questions Unanswered”.

Lena Wang and Katherine Thornton of Glaholt Bowles LLP will discuss the new Construction Act, unanswered questions and debates, and the use of statutory adjudications by the industry to date. Tune in to hear answers to frequently asked questions and tips on how to stay ahead of the curve.

Presenters:

Lena Wang is a partner at Glaholt Bowles LLP. Her practice is focused on construction disputes and she has appeared at all levels of Ontario courts, where she has experience representing clients in all stages of litigation at trial and on appeal.

Lena is a graduate of Cornell University and Osgoode Hall Law School. She is a section executive of the CBA’s Construction & Infrastructure section. She has lectured at the Osgoode LLM construction law course, the Ontario Association of Architecture’s annual conference, as well as other events in the construction industry. She is a frequent contributor to the Glaholt Bowles newsletter and podcast.

Katherine Thornton is an associate at Glaholt Bowles LLP. Katherine’s practice includes litigation, arbitration, and mediation of a variety of construction disputes.

Katherine is a graduate of Queen’s University and Ryerson University. During law school, Katherine received the course prize in Construction Law. Katherine is a director of CAWIC, and has been a guest lecturer at George Brown. Katherine was instrumental in developing the first Canadian Construction Law podcast, Building Insight.
