WSBE is a global triennial event that started in 1998 with numerous successful editions held in Oslo (2002), Tokyo (2005), Melbourne (2008), Helsinki (2011), Barcelona (2014), Hong Kong (2017) and most recently Gothenburg (2020).
The WSBE conference is the culmination of the Sustainable Built Environment (SBE) conference series, which is recognized as the preeminent international conference series on eco-responsible design, building and construction.
Occurring every 3 years, WSBE is focused on actionable outcomes that address the climate change problematic. Some virtual conference activities will be incorporated to allow a greater inclusion of important actors – from students and young professionals to delegates from developing countries.
Global participation ensures a more rich and diverse dialogue with varied experiences and unique solutions.
