This fun and interactive session on branding answers the whys and how-tos about branding. What is a brand?  What are the qualities of an effective brand?  How can you best leverage your brand assets to be more effective in your communications and connect with your clients? From the intrinsic brand-value based decisions such as go-no-gos to the visual language of your brand in proposals, brochures, websites and beyond, attendees will learn how to maintain a cohesive brand while allowing for flexibility when needed. Further they will learn how to measure their company’s brand equity, to determine whether it’s time for a change.

Cristina Kelly,  Brand Strategist, Entro,

Cristina brings over 8 years of consumer relations experience to her role at Entro as a brand strategist. In this role, Cristina provides strategic direction for a number of clients as well as overseeing all internal branding initiatives at Entro.
Her dedicated attention to the social, cultural and political intricacies of every new organization allows her to facilitate groups and synthesize information in a way that ensures voices are heard, internal expertise is leveraged and true inclusion is felt by all. She has had implemented internal management and communication strategies, and has collaborated in developing a company process for branding consultation. She has also advised clients in carrying out communications strategies to increase their media presentation to further expand their penetration in the not-for-profit and for-profit business sectors. Cristina has worked with a number of organizations and businesses in the areas of athletics and recreation, information technology, social services, housing, packaging, healthcare, architecture, education, and international human rights. Her recent projects include the King High Line branding, Spokane International Airport rebrand, Toronto Rehabilitation Institute brand strategy and naming and the Toronto Pan Am Sports Centre brand strategy.

Monika Meyer, Designer, Entro

As Designer at Entro, Monika takes a holistic approach to design, always considering the client’s objectives and the project’s potential functionality, formats, applications, and materials to create innovative yet appropriate solutions. She believes in beginning with the end in mind.
Monika holds an Advanced Diploma in Graphic Design from George Brown, supplemented by courses in photography, drawing and painting from OCAD. Her talent was recognized at the outset of her career with an array of notable awards such as the New Talent Award, Graphis Magazine (2016), Applied Arts Student Award – Editorial Design (2015), Award for Innovation in Design, George Brown College (2015), and Redgee Design Award Finalist, Design Edge Magazine (2015).

A well-rounded designer, Monika has experience with branding, logo design, web design, signage and wayfinding, and experiential graphic design. Her recent projects include the Brisbin Book Beynon Architects rebrand, Centennial College website design and signage; Parkside Student Residence branding and signage, and signage and wayfinding design for: MaRS Discovery District and the Kelly Ramsey Redevelopment.
