For the last six years, those thrilling words have rung out at each Project 31 auction, as savvy connoisseurs snapped up unique works of art and design by renowned OCAD University faculty and alumni.

This 2016 edition of Project 31 is our biggest ever. With 46 pieces on which to bid, you will be astonished by the diversity of the art, produced by some of Canada’s most impressive artists and designers. New this year is a silent auction of work by OCAD University medal winners. We’re so pleased to be able to include young alumni swiftly making names for themselves in the art world.

Of course, as a friend to OCAD University, you may already know that our mandate is not simply to imagine the future, but to help create it. To reach that goal, OCAD University recently launched the Ignite Imagination campaign (ocadu.ca/ignite). As the next stage in our storied history, Ignite Imagination will ensure that our students, faculty and alumni continue to be able to leverage the power of art, design and digital innovation to change the world for the better.

Part of the Ignite Imagination mosaic, Project 31 is testament to the generosity of our university’s faculty and alumni (five faculty members have donated to every Project 31 since its beginning). And while we have eclipsed our inaugural lot of 31 donated works, the event name is still wonderfully apt in 2016, with a Project 31 that features 31 areas of al location.

The artists and designers whose work you purchase tonight are directing the proceeds to initiatives and programs that support our students and university community, and that contribute to Ignite Imagination’s four pillars: enhancing
the student experience, fostering faculty innovation, enriching academic programming and building and renewing infrastructure.
