This seven part professional development course will explore participatory design practices for the collaborative planning of streets and public spaces for pedestrians and cyclists. Case studies will be used to identify challenges and opportunities found in designing safe and appealing spaces for active modes of transportation across a range of environments (urban, peri-urban, suburban, rural). The course is designed for built environment professionals and students across a range of disciplines.
