OAA Keynote event with Jesse Wente
1:00 PM - 2:00 PM
The OAA is very pleased to announce a free Keynote to kick off registration for this year’s virtual Conference. Broadcaster, advocate, and pop culture philosopher Jesse Wente will be speaking on the Conference’s central theme of “Cultivate Inclusivity” on Wednesday, April 21, at 1:00 pm. Wente has appeared on CBC Radio’s Metro Morning as a film and pop culture critic for 20 years and previously served as Director of Film Programmes at TIFF Bell Lightbox, overseeing theatrical, Cinematheque, and Film Circuit programming. A self-described “Ojibwe dude” with a national and international lens, he encourages audiences to consider diversity and inclusion into the future view of their profession and country.
More information will be coming shortly on how to register for this free event, which officially launches registration for this year’s OAA Conference, held virtually the week of May 17 to 21. On April 21, the OAA will also announce its 2021 Service Award winners as well as the jury’s chosen selections for the SHIFT 2021 Resiliency/Architecture Challenge.
