Infrastructure Institute’s +(Plus) 2.0 Exhibition Launch

As part of DesignTO 2023, Canada’s largest and leading annual design festival, the Infrastructure Institute presents +(plus) 2.0.

About Creative Mixed-Use

Our +(plus) exhibition series explores Toronto as a leader in the design and implementation of mixed-use buildings, demonstrating how our cities overall can centre around care and mutual aid in partnerships.

While not widely explored, creative mixed-use buildings bring together public, private, and non-profit uses in creative ways to deliver significant affordable housing among other critical social infrastructures such as schools, homeless shelters, and more.

Drawing from ideas generated through the public’s participation in +(plus) 1.0, launched in Summer 2022 at the World Urban Pavillion in Regent Park, powered by Danielur newest exhibition seeks to answer the question “What if ?”.

About +(plus) 2.0

+(plus) 2.0 explores the full breadth of possibilities for community-building that emerge from mixing improbable uses together; questions the current systems that maintain the ‘status quo’ in architecture/urban planning; and encourages us all to reimagine not only what our neighbourhoods look like, but ultimately who our cities are for.

On January 21st at 4:00 PM, join us for an evening of light food and refreshments, and a keynote address, to interact with the exhibit and explore creative mixed-use buildings’ role in placemaking and how this model can support sustainable urban development and resilient communities.

+(plus) 2.0 will be available throughout DesignTO from January 20th to 29th: https://designto.org/event/plus-2-0/
