City of Toronto | TransformTO: Getting to Net Zero
In response to City Council’s climate emergency declaration in 2019, the City is updating the TransformTO climate action strategy to meet an accelerated greenhouse gas emissions reduction target of net zero by 2050 or sooner. This includes reaching a short-term target to reduce emissions by 65 per cent from 1990 levels by 2030; a key milestone on the path to net zero.
With previous input from Torontonians, the City has identified some key climate actions to reduce emissions from the main sources of greenhouse gases in Toronto, including buildings, transportation, energy and waste.
The City invites your input on the net zero climate actions under consideration.
Your feedback will help us prioritize short-term climate actions to meet our 2030 emissions reduction target. We want to make sure our climate actions leave no one behind, so while you’re considering which climate actions should be implemented first, also consider what these actions might look like in your community as we travel the path to net zero together.
