City of Toronto | Multiplexes: Expanding Housing Options in Neighbourhoods
From the City of Toronto website:
The purpose of this survey is to gather public and industry opinion about Multiplexes in Toronto. Your feedback is important to us and we appreciate your time and input!
The Multiplex project is one of several studies the City of Toronto is currently leading to create more housing options in residential neighbourhoods (visit www.toronto.ca/EHON to learn more).
A multiplex, as defined under the current Zoning by Law 569-2013 contains anywhere between 2 – 4 purpose-built units, within a converted or constructed house. Common multiplex built forms are duplexes that contain two units, triplexes that contain three units, and fourplexes which contain four units.
Multiplexes can be found in many parts of Toronto today, but are also limited in where they can be newly built. City Council directed City Planning to report on expanding opportunities for more low-rise housing in residential neighbourhoods. One of these opportunities is to allow more residential units in forms compatible with existing houses, such as multiplexes, where they are not currently permitted.
The results of this survey will be analyzed at the group level and identifying information will not be presented in the results of the analyses. The survey should take 15 minutes or less to complete. You are not required to answer all questions, and you can skip ahead at any time. All of your answers are private and confidential.
