Call for Volunteers | Doors Open Walking Tours (Event Support)
Looking to grow your network while lending a hand to support the Toronto Society of Architects (TSA)’s architecture and design public outreach efforts? Want to be part of the largest architecture event in the city and amongst the largest in North America? Come join us as an events volunteer for our walking tours during Doors Open Toronto 2022!
Each year, in partnership with the City of Toronto, the Toronto Society of Architects develops and leads a series of free walking tours as part of Doors Open Toronto weekend, helping the public discover the stories behind our city’s buildings and landscapes.
Our TSA Doors Open event volunteers are enthusiastic ambassadors for the TSA and architecture. They provide support for the operation of our walking tours, helping with logistics throughout the day, greeting visitors and answering questions from the public. They play a pivotal role in helping us manage crowds and ensure a smooth and enjoyable experience for all attending. TSA Doors Open volunteers are reliable, out-going and resourceful. They are passionate about architecture and enjoy interacting with people from all walks of life.
What to expect as a TSA Open Studio Volunteer
TSA Doors Open event volunteers commit to helping out at our walking tour site (Harbourfront Centre) during either a half day or one full-day (9:30 AM – 5:30 PM) during Doors Open weekend (May 28-29,2022). They will assist with logistics and check-in, as well as get the opportunity to join in one of the tours with an experienced tour guide. New volunteers will be asked to complete a short online course on accessible customer service (30-40 minutes) prior to Doors Open weekend. After Doors Open, volunteers will be asked to provide feedback on their experience and what can be improved in future years.

About the Toronto Society of Architects
Established in 1887, the Toronto Society of Architects (TSA) is a non-profit volunteer-led organization dedicated to bringing people together to discuss, learn and explore around our shared passion for the built environment.
We are committed to the betterment of our city and have played an important advocacy role throughout Toronto’s history. We do this through a wide range of programs which foster welcoming and inclusive forums for debate and the exchange of ideas, stimulating critical thinking about the design and building issues of our time. Our public programming is complemented by initiatives supporting the personal growth and professional development of over 2000 TSA members. Membership is open to everyone and welcomes design professionals, students and the general public.
The TSA is a Society of the Ontario Association of Architects (OAA), which is the licensing and regulatory body that governs the practice of architecture in Ontario.
