Block by Block Exhibition
Discover powerful stories of migration, displacement, arrival and survival in Block by Block, an exhibition presented by the Toronto Ward Museum in partnership with the City’s Museum and Heritage Services. Through the oral histories of Toronto residents, the exhibition highlights the importance of informal networks, grassroots organizing and the everyday experiences that help make the city feel like home. Block by Block is rooted in the legacy of The Ward — one of Toronto’s most diverse and historically significant neighbourhoods that was once located where City Hall and Nathan Phillips Square now stand. While most newcomers today live outside the downtown core, the themes and history of the Ward remain deeply relevant to the experiences of immigrants and newcomers across the city.
